On the third official day of competition at the 2025 Tokyo Deaflympics, Team South Africa once again displayed grit and determination on the global stage with athletes competing in golf and table tennis.
Table Tennis – Women’s Doubles
South Africa’s Thabisa Qhude and Sinovuyo Tyulu competed in the Women’s Doubles Round of 32 at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium. Though they did not advance to the next round, the pair put in a spirited performance and represented the nation with pride.
Their journey in doubles concludes here, but both athletes will return to the tables for the women’s singles preliminary rounds tomorrow.
Golf – Round 2 at Wakasu Golf Links
It was the second round of the individual strokeplay competition, and both South African golfers continued to hold their own:

Weather & Athlete Spirit
The weather in Tokyo remained steady at 15°C, though slightly milder than yesterday thanks to reduced wind chill. All our athletes gave it their absolute best, fighting fearlessly and embracing every challenge with heart and discipline.
